Equine Acupuncture
Many of the disease processes that affect our horses are treatable with acupuncture.
Acupuncture treatments center on restoring the body's balance. This may refer to balance of the mind or body. It works by changing and redirecting the flow of Qi throughout the body. Qi, in traditional Chinese medicine, is defined as the life force inside all of us. It's the vital energy that animates our bodies.
Acupuncture is most often spoken of in relation to diminishing pain, especially chronic pain, but it is also a good adjunctive treatment for many of the common diseases affecting our pets.
By placing needles at key points on the body, it is possible to send messages to the brain that encourage the body to generate substances that stimulate the animal's natural healing process. The needles help guide the body's Qi to the places the body needs it most.
